How I got into music:
After dropping out of piano lessons as a kid and then
getting kicked out of the grade school band for not
practicing my clarinet, I discovered chorus, and then
I discovered that playing an instrument can help gather
a crowd around you. My high school passion (ukulele)
led people to encourage me to join their rock bands,
but only if I learned electric bass, and play in their
churches, but only if I learned acoustic guitar. This
led naturally to the obvious next step of getting
married and starting a hammered dulcimer band. After
10 years of lugging around large instruments and
associated hardware -- not to mention the necessity of
tuning over 100 strings -- the appeal of being in
an a cappella group was obvious. It's nice that it's fun
and sounds good too.

Hobbies:
Family bike trips, camping, languages.

A few random thoughts:
As if the above isn't random enough.
Coffee with real cream is a special treat.
Hamburgers taste best on the grill.
I try to be the best in what I choose to do,
but make sure that what I do is unique enough
that being the best is an easy option.
