We are currently seeking new members for tenor, bass, and a vocal percussion part. No previous a cappella experience is necessary. Our auditions are conducted in three steps, as follows:

Audition Step 1: Questionnaire

The first thing you need to do in order to audition for InnerLoop is fill out our questionnaire. This allows us to get to know you a little better prior to meeting, and it also allows us to spend more time learning music during the actual audition. We do NOT exclude anyone based on their answers. Everyone will get a chance to audition. To request the questionnaire, please click the following link:

Audition Step 2: Actual Audition

After we receive your questionnaire, we will contact you to setup an audition time. The audition usually lasts about an hour and includes the following.

• Scales - We start off by having you sing scales and other warm up activities to get a better idea of your range.
• Learning Music - We will typically teach you a small section of one or two songs. A group member will be singing with you for several iterations while the rest of the group sings the other parts, but he will then gradually back off to allow you to sing the part by yourself.
• Solo - We ask that everyone auditioning sing us a solo while we quietly listen. It can be anything you want. Rock, doo-wop, R&B, alternative, etc. We recommend that you do an upbeat tune, but the most important thing is that you feel comfortable singing it in front of other people (like us weirdos).

After the audition, we will call you and let you know the results. This may take some time if more individuals need to audition. Our main focus is on finding the people who best fit the group, both musically and personally.

Audition Step 3: Getting Started

Once we decide that we would like to have you join the group, we will ask you to start attending rehearsals. We consider the first month or so to be a trial period before making our final decision. During this time we will give you a few songs to learn. Once the group believes that you have mastered them, we will indicate that you are a full member of the group and you will be able to start performing with us!
